Doctors in Unite member Dr Brian Fisher has written two pieces for Left Foot Forward, where he argues the economic case for creating a robust social care service. Brian has worked as a GP in southeast London for over 40 years, and was awarded an MBE for his work in community development in 2007.
Brian makes the positive case that fixing social care can help fix the economy. He challenges the idea that proper investment in social care is a zero sum game, building on work with the campaign End Social Care Disgrace who call for a National Care, Support, and Independent Living Service.
