You can become a member of Doctors in Unite by joining Unite the union.
Doctors in Unite is the home for progressive doctors who want to make a difference. We hold to the founding principles of the NHS as Nye Bevan intended and campaign against privatisation and unsafe workplaces. We stand in solidarity with other health workers, at home and abroad, in their struggles and fight for migrant’s rights. We have been particularly active during COVID 19, lobbying hard for a community based test, track, isolate and support system.
Doctors currently in work join Unite as working members. You will be given the choice between basic or enhanced membership on the Unite membership form.
Basic membership includes Unite legal aid, 24 hour legal helpline access, and dispute & funerary benefits. Enhanced membership offers extra financial protection including incapacity support, maternity/paternity benefits, fatal accident cover, and disability & convalescence support.
Most of our members opt for enhanced membership.
Medical students can join as community members.
Retired doctors can join as retired members.
Once you’ve signed up, please consider joining the national branch to get the most out of your membership. This helps Doctors in Unite to contact and co-ordinate with our members more easily.
On your membership card, this should show as branch LE/0375M. You can check your branch details online at myunite.unitetheunion.org
